This photoshoot was about the fusing together of two contrasting liiks. Ice queen Vs romantic dream. Influenced by Lady Gaga's futuristic burst onto the music and fashion scene and the innocence of a heroine. Looking at giving a frosting to an angelic wardrobe by mixing together sheers and seequins with lace and bows.

The photographer was Daniel Hill. A student at AUCB and the model was Anastasia also on the same course. We first went and did the location shoot at Southbourne beach in Bournemouth. I arranged a day before hand a shopping trip so I could try the clothes on Anastasia before I brought them to make sure they looked right. On the day I arranged for both the model and photographer to meet at my house. I did the makeup at home and then we walked down to the beach, The lighting was perfect as the sun was just starting to set. The day was perfect yet very cold. Could have been for either summer or winter. Anastasia was a natural infromt of the camera and didn't need too much direction. Styling the shoot and trying to hide the labels due to the wind was a bit of a pain and dogs running into the shots were annoying. One dog nearly jumped up onto the trousers!!!! Scary moment as I had to take the clothes back afterwards. We went near some toilets so Anastasia could change.
ReplyDeleteDaniel did have to use some additional lighting as some of the shots came out dark. The light kept needing someone to hold it due to the wind so an assistant was needed.
In the studio for the second shoot. I wasn't happy as Daniel had forgotten to brink the blue strip to go over the lighting as I wanted it to be blue light so that it looked icy. So we had to use white light. I wanted to use a smoke machiene but couldn't due to setting off the smoke alarms. Also I would have liked to use a makeup artist but they were never in uni. A learning curve though. While the shoot was going on Daniel was playing Goldfrapp on his laptop and the music created an eary atmosphere which I think helped influence some of Anastasia's poses. Music is a great tool on a shoot and I will use it on my final shoot!!!
As this photoshoot was not assessed, I would like to put it toward my final project as part of my research as It has strongly influenced my final brief.
